Letting a new home checklist

Letting a new home checklist
Professional house share

At Prem-Lets, we understand that moving can be such a stressful process, at this moment in time you’re probably frantically packing up your current home into boxes, booking removal vans and sorting out final bills. But what else do you need to think about before you start unpacking into your new property you’ve recently started letting.

This checklist includes some key things to think about before moving your items into your new rented property.

Deep clean your new place

Your new place should already be nice and empty ready for your arrival, however its important to make sure you give it a quick clean over just before you start moving stuff in. If your new home has been stood empty for a month or two then it is likely there could be dust everywhere.

Not enough furniture?

If you’re moving out for the first time, or you’re moving into an unfurnished property from a furnished one, then you may not have enough furniture for every room. And, after paying all the upfront costs of moving you’re probably not wanting to spend even more money on furniture. Websites like freecycle could be just what you need, to get some free bits people are giving away.

Sort out your finances

Moving house makes for the perfect opportunity to sort out all of your finances. You will be signing up for some new services anyway, therefore, why not take some time to think about which deals would be best for you and your needs.

When you move properties you aren’t automatically put onto the electronic register. It’s always a good idea to register as soon as you move as this will also impact your credit score. You can now register through the gov.uk site.
